Redesign, Realign, whatever.

Better than the January sales

That’s right, 36 degrees design has changed clothes. Call a redesign, realign, whatever you like. The site has had a complete overhaul and I’m still putting the finishing touches to it. I’ve also moved over to wordpress from the system I have been fighting with for a couple of years.

Feature-wise, the site hasn’t changed much, same old content, with a pretty new look. The design is a natural progression and maturing of the previous incarnation, the colours and imagery have become such an integral part of the site, anything else just wouldn’t work.

You might notice some fancy-pants javascript effects here and there, which as much as anything else were an educative process as-well as a space saving exercise. You may also notice the use of alpha transparent PNG’s, and take in a sharp breath when you see the site in Internet Explorer. However, support for IE is on the way, as well as some accessibility improvements over the coming weeks.

Moving over from my old system, the process of transferring content was laborious to say the least, so not everything is here yet, though again, over time I will get everything moved across.

The last design lasted over six months, and a change was well due. I feel that with this design I have finally got something here that I can be completely happy with. Adding that to the stability of wordpress should mean plain sailing for the foreseeable future!

Anyway, it is almost 4am, and I need to sleep. I look forward to reading your comments.

Happiest man in Britain

written by Stuart on December 1st, 2005

Browsing through my webstat application this evening, and found this:
Happiest man in BritainMy site ranks 9th on google for that phrase. Maybe the searcher would have found what they were looking for if they had tried the happiest man in the UK, or Great Britain or whatever. More gems from the recent search phrases include “How do I Kill myself”, “Japans number one design agency”, and a whole gaggle of people looking for “Teen lesbians” sorry folks, none of that stuff here.

Sigur Ros in Liverpool

written by Stuart on November 14th, 2005

Sigur RosLast night was the sigur ros gig in Liverpool. I managed to get a ticket, and proceeded to see what was quite possibly the best gig I’ve ever seen. Running a music website, I used to go to a fair few gigs, and man, did I see some great shows, but last night, there saw just something special about sigur ros live. …Read On

I am currently studying at John Moores University in Liverpool for a degree in International Business Studies & Japanese. I sing, play the guitar (poorly), I am a Coventry City fan, and despite that, I enjoy football, and most other sports from the comfort of an armchair.

My favourite band are Radiohead, my favourite author is H. Murakami, my favourite film is Fargo and my favourite colour is, well, blue, actually.

There is a chance that you don’t want a website at all, and that being the case, you may like to take a browse through my blog, or delve into the music section where you can download some of my material. feel free to have a good nose, and do give me a shout via the contact section if you have something on your mind.
